Wagyu Flank Steak & Spinach Pinwheels



Flank Steaks are often overlooked or limited to fajita cut but it is much more versatile!  Being Wagyu makes this cut tender and buttery, flavorful!  Level up your game with these Spinach and Cheese filled Wagyu Flank Steak Pinwheels, you will impress your guests and even yourself!!  

Wagyu Flank Steak & Spinach Pinwheels

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-2.5 lb) G Five Wagyu Flank Steak
  • 1 (1 lb) Package Bacon
  • Seasoning Blend      
  •     -Salt, Pepper, Parsley, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder to Taste (1/4 tsp cayenne       pepper, optional) 
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 1/2 cup Panko or Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil 
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (chopped or grated)
  • 1 (10 oz) Package Frozen Spinach (thawed and drained)
  • 1 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese 
  • Toothpicks to hold pinwheels together



  • -Preheat oven to 425 degrees for the bacon, after bacon is done set oven to broil
  • -Slightly cook bacon until done but not crisp (your preferred method, oven, stove, microwave)
  •     I cook mine in the oven at 425 for approximately 8-10 minutes
  • -Butterfly the G5 Wagyu Flank Steak and pound as thin as possible
  • -Season the Flank Steak on both sides with the seasoning mixture above (salt, pepper, parsley, garlic and optional cayenne)
  • -Squeeze 1/2 lemon on top of the entire steak
  • -Now Layer the remaining ingredients on the flank steak as follows
  • -Mix the breadcrumbs, garlic and olive oil and spread mixture on the steak
  • -Arrange the cooked Bacon to cover the entire steak
  • -spread the spinach on top of the bacon layer
  • -Sprinkle the shredded parmesan cheese on top of the bacon layer



-Start are the bottom and begin to roll the layered flank steak into a log 

-Secure the seam with toothpicks and cut 1-1.5 inch wide pieces to create the pinwheels 

-Spray a baking sheet (we greased our pan with G5 Tallow), Lay each pinwheel cut side down on the baking sheet  

-Make sure oven is on broil, broil on one side for 4 minutes, flip (add a little cheese on top of each) and broil on the other side for 4 minutes 

-ENJOY the fruits of your labor!
